A Peek Into My Home Life

I've decided to wait until tomorrow to share with you all Scott and I's pumpkin patch adventure. Instead, I wanted to give you a little peek into my home life.

This is Jake, he is my 13-year-old Pembroke Welsch Corgi. Jake means the world to me, and has been a major part of my life growing up. When he was younger he used to love to play with rubber bands (he literally would fling them from his nail and tooth (Scouts honor)), and chase after me, whether we were in a parking lot, or in green grass. In his older age, he still loves to play with rubber bands, even though not as much, and is a real cuddler.

A few weeks back he got really sick and we had to take him to an animal emergency room. He was diagnosed with old man's syndrome, which will occasionally make him react like he has an ear infection, therefore being dizzy and not able to keep his lunch down, and has since got much better. He is still on the mend, and we are hoping that this sickness isn't more than we think it is. He means the world to me, and I can't imagine my life without him.

Do you have any pets? What are they like?

  1. Aww I love Corgis!
I have a Golden Retriever that lives back home with my dad in CA. She just turned 9 Oct 2nd. She has a really bad Thyroid problem so she is pretty overweight and at one point she weighed more than I did lol (when I was underweight at the time). I love her so much and I really do miss her!

  3. Jazmyn- Jake had a thyroid problem as well, so he had to have surgery done and he lost a lot of weight afterward. Your dog sounds very sweet!

  4. Aw, your puppy is precious! I certainly hope he's all better soon. I had a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Max when I was younger. He was the silliest dog! He never, I mean NEVER, looked where he was going. He was constantly running into the couch, or the door...it was adorable. :)

I'm more of a cat person, though. I have a three year old cat named Walter Frankenstein, now. I just love him to bits. :)

  6. Omg that rubber band story is hilarious! Of course you know Eva - we just love her. I clipped her nails today and cut one too close, and she bled a teensy bit and I nearly DIED. It was so horrible! Isn't it funny how you can love something so much?

  8. Oh no, poor Jake!
I understand, how an animal can mean the world to someone. Is there anything the vet could do, to make Jake feel better? When will you get new results?
I have a cat, who lives at my moms house, because I have a really small flat and at my moms house, she can go into the garden, what she really love.
Here in my flat I have a Djungarian Hamster named Lina. A few weeks ago, she also was very ill. I thought she would die. You can have a look at my blog, to see pictures of her. Today, she's well and fit, thank god.

I really really hope, Jake's getting soon better,

    xo, Mel

  11. Aww I know the feeling - I have 2 dogs, 1 is a rough collie, Lassie, and 13 she has really bad legs and is getting older and I've had her since I was little. I also have a 3yr old Jack Russell, Dottie, - it's really sweet though they're best friends although we joke about Dottie being Lassie's carer.

I hope Jack gets better, it's so distressing when pets get ill xxxxZ

  12. I have several pets, but one is my cat Scamper. She is 19 years old, and I picked her out when I was two. She sleeps on my pillow every night and I can't imagine what living without her would be like, but I'm thankful that I've gotten as much time with her as I have. I hope Jake gets back to feeling like himself!
