Flashlight Fun

During Spring Break Scott and I went out to Tempe Beach Park to experiment with my camera. I had a "creative in the camera" assignment for my Photojournalism class, so I thought it would be fun to mess around with shutter speeds and a flashlight. The results:

Scott's first name!

And this was the lightrail bridge that night, so pretty with its changing lights.

Most of the light photos were done by Scott, as he is much better at drawing with light than I am. He told me it was because he was a design student and he has spent many hours drawing (that of which I have not, darn my writing skills haha).

We sure had a lot of fun and I foresee more photo adventures like this in the future.

Have you ever played with light and a camera?

This is really so cool. I want to try it now! I've played with light but never thought of using a flash light. I just used streetlights and it didn't work as well.

This is so cool! How long of a shutter did you have to use? I've always wanted to try this but wasn't sure how to do it. I'd love it if you could email me some tips!

That teacup is just divine. Great job, Scott (John). I love playing with the shutter speed on my camera. Some of my friends and I made some pretty crazy photos last year during a "bon fire" (aka small fire pit) in our backyard.

So fun and really cute photos. :)
