Miss Delaney

I remember the first time I listened to Jack's Mannequins' Everything In Transit. I was a diehard Something Corporate fan, and was devastated when I found out that out that the lead singer, Andrew McMahon, was diagnosed with Leukemia. So when the album was released, it was a sign of hope, one that I try and carry with me as a reminder to life's ups and downs. It's also terribly catching and now, almost seven years after its release, I can still sing every word to every song.

The weather here is still having its ups and downs as well, and I tend to always opt to layering more than maybe is necessary to avoid being cold. Some of the buildings at ASU can get awfully chilly, and if I get too cold my body just wants to down and relax (which doesn't work for me right now, as I have a stack of grad papers to work on! oh man!). Anyways, no matter what the season, I will always love a good layered outfit.

What are you up to today? Are you a Something Corporate or a Jack's Mannequin fan? XO

  1. Amazing outfit, Miss Chelsea. It actually reminds me of the carefree style that you can find here in Southern California, and pull it off wonderfully.

& I am so glad someone loves Jacks Mannequin! I have loved them for years, and years. I even saw them at Coachella last year, and they are as wonderful live as you'd expect.

  5. Yes! Yes! Yes! We already talked about this on Twitter hehe but now I've got them playing on my itunes...thanks for the reminder! Dark blue is one of my favourite songs...and for SoCo, Konstantine is totally my numero uno! Have you seen them live? They are fantastic! There is a music festival that I would go to every year when I was in high school and they always played, I've seen them a handful of times - so good!! Such happy, upbeat music!

And oh ya, this outfit...I love everything that is going on! The colours, patterns and accessories.

  6. Honestly, one of my favorite albums, ever. It always reminds me of the fall because I remember listening to it on repeat to and from school during my senior year in high school. Love it!

  8. Hi Chelsea! I just started reading your blog and was really excited to see this post. I, too, was always a big SoCo fan and when Jack's Mannequin started I fell in love with them as well. They're one of my favorite concert memories - it was so moving and you could tell it was personal for Andrew McMahon.

I love the peeks of polka dots in this outfit, too! Really cute!
