Down In The Alleyway

I often struggle with the idea of myself being either a morning person, or a night owl. I love a good, early morning spent sipping on coffee, going out for breakfast, and getting a jump start on my day. However, I'm also quite fond of staying up way too late reading through blogs, watching ridiculous television, and finishing up anything I didn't get to earlier in the day (I also may think about life and the future WAY too much during these obscene hours). I suppose over time this will change, but for now sleep schedule is in a constant state of disarray. Anyone else a poor sleeper? Any suggestions for getting back on a decent sleeping schedule?

On another note, this is my ultimate go-to outfit. Give me a light cardigan, white shirt, dark denim, and a fun purse and pair of shoes and I'm set. Over the past few years I've realized how important it is to invest in great staples, and splurge a little less on garments that might see less of a rotation in my wardrobe. Levi's is usually my go-to store for stocking up on garment staples, but lately Madewell has really been giving my old favorite a run for their money.

Ok, I'm ready to go start my day with a whole wheat bagel + peanut butter, and an iced coffee. What do you guys have planned for this beautiful day? Anyone going on a movie date? I really want to see The Five Year Engagement and Dark Shadows!

Outfit details:
Cardigan: Banana Republic

  2. Ok, it's borderline bizarre how much I can identify with everything you talked about in this post! I suck at sleep, too...mostly because I end up staying up to late reading or watching Netflix or what have you and then hate sleeping in to make up for it. I'm perpetually tired :) haha. Hope you get some sleep this weekend!

Also - yes to Madewell being such a great place to find good quality wardrobe staples. I try to branch out but keep coming back to Madewell...they just suit my style so well, I almost don't even have to put any thought into shopping there. It's fool-proof!

  4. Is this difficulty sleeping a blogger thing? Because I swear in years to come they'll discover that people with sleep disorders are 10 times more likely to become a blogger...

I feel like there are just not enough hours in the day so I stay awake for as long as I can, then crrrrash.

  5. Love that bag and those wedges! And your hair is so pretty! I wish I could pull off your level of blonde.

I've been wanting to see Dark Shadows and the Five Year Engagement for so long now! They both look so good, but neither are playing anywhere near me! :(
